Caught on Security Cam: House Cat Faces off With Bobcat

When a bobcat entered Queen the house cat’s territory, it didn’t expect a warrior queen. Security-camera footage from a person’s backyard captured what happened when the house cat and a bobcat intruder went head to head, and everyone who watches the video comes away impressed by the house cat’s bravado.

“Omg I can’t believe this happened this morning and that we caught it on camera!” wrote allieohare in an Instagram post sharing the video. “A bobcat intruder entered The Queen’s realm but she held her ground. She stood, poofed, and conquered.”

The video shows the bobcat following the cat closely, before the house cat turns around and takes a stand. In the end, she scares off the larger wild cat right as her owner realizes what’s going on.

“You almost just got eaten!” O’Hare says as she appears on the security camera and shoos her beloved cat inside. Little did she know at the time, the cat completely held her own.

The video has nearly 100,000 likes on Instagram, and the comments section is fun to read.

“Took cat 2 business days to notice the bobcat,” joked one person, referring to the beginning of the video when the cat is playing it cool.

“The warrior slays a Bobcat and is disrespected by mom’s fuzzy slippers,” jokes another, referencing how O’Hare thinks her cat needs help. (Turns out, the cat is the help.)
